This session will unpack the Citizens Count Advocacy Toolkit and share practical ways to shape policy. Learn how to follow legislation, craft public testimony, or even work with legislators to draft a new law. From serious issues like child marriage to the more light-hearted law against chicken trespassing, you will leave inspired by real stories and prepared with practical tools to be an effective participant in your state government.
Instructor Anna Brown is one of New Hampshire’s foremost experts on state government and policy. She is Executive Director of Citizens Count, a nonprofit that provides unbiased information about New Hampshire democracy. She serves as the Director of the Rudman Center for Justice, Leadership, and Public Service at UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law.
Instructor Mike Dunbar is the Director of Content at Citizens Count. He develops the organization’s content strategy, oversees social media, writes and edits articles about New Hampshire policy and legislative preview newsletters, and co-hosts its $100 Plus Mileage podcast.
