Classes and Workshops

Two women, one with curly hair and glasses, standing and pointing at a laptop with a colorful mandala design, while the other with red hair and glasses, seated at a desk, looks intently at the screen. There are two laptops and some papers on the desk, with photos of people and an airplane in the background.

Civic Documenters (CivDocs)

When fewer reporters cover local government, our communities lose visibility into the decisions that shape our schools, budgets, and neighborhoods. The Civic Documenters (CivDocs) program empowers New Hampshire residents to help close that gap — ensuring transparency, accountability, and a more informed public.

Through CivDocs, participants learn how to observe, record, and share what happens in local meetings so everyone has access to reliable, factual information about their communities. By strengthening civic participation and local journalism, the program helps preserve one of our most essential democratic values: the public’s right to know.

CivDocs is launching a new cohort in 2026. Details to come.

Civic Documenters is a partnership of the Loeb School, the Granite State News Collaborative, and the New England First Amendment Coalition (NEFAC).
