Each week, we’ll venture into a new pair of written forms – personal essay and memoir, profile and review, travel writing and fiction’s sense of place – and use them as tools to sharpen the skills that matter across all genres of writing; generating ideas, building vibrant characters and crafting effective dialogue, and revising your own work. Come curious and ready to challenge yourself -- and leave inspired, with a stronger, more authentic voice and new ways to put your words on a page. Writers at every level are welcome.
Kimberly Marlowe Hartnett is a teacher of adult writers, longtime journalist, and the author of Carolina Israelite: How Harry Golden Made Us Care about Jews, the South, and Civil Rights.
