On Tuesday, October 6, the Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications is hosting Federal Communications Commissioner Anna Gomez as part of her nationwide First Amendment Tour.
The First Amendment in Focus: A Conversation with FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics. Gomez will be joined by Brendan Nyhan, professor of government at Dartmouth College, for a conversation about free speech, a free press, and the FCC’s role in the communications landscape. They will explore the relationship between government and the news media, the FCC’s regulatory role, press freedom, and the importance of an independent press in a democracy.
Gomez launched her First Amendment Tour to engage communities across the country through conversations and listening sessions focused on the rights and freedoms protected by the First Amendment.
