Loeb School Offers a ‘Summer Pack’ of In-person & Online Workshops

MANCHESTER, NH – Registration is open for three new in-person and  online courses at Nackey S. Loeb School of Communications to help business and organizations learn how to get the word out during a time of disruption, closures and new practices and protocols, due to Coronavirus.

As businesses begin reopening, the need to share your news is more important than ever. “Organizations that respond to the pandemic with strong, consistent communications and creativity will be rewarded with customer and constituent trust. We’re offering three workshops at our School and online this July for anyone responsible for promoting a business, nonprofit or community organization,” explains the School’s executive director, Laura Simoes.

The three workshops can be taken together as a series, or individually. The cost for attending is $60 per person for the in-person Photography for Promotion workshop, and $25 each for the

online courses.

Photography for Promotion is offered on Friday, July 10, from 9am – 3pm, in-person, on-site at the Nackey Loeb School in Manchester, NH.  Instructor Geoff Forester has designed a workshop to share how to take public relations and promotional photographs that land on the web and in the paper, not in the trash. Forester is an award-winner photographer and longtime Nackey Loeb School instructor. He offers proven suggestions on how to take photos to enhance any news release, newsletter or your organization or business website. The workshop includes camera basics, taking good photos, and selecting photos that best tell your story.  Bring your camera! Due to social distancing requirements, this class is limited to 12 participants. Register early for your spot. Cost $60.

Getting the Word Out While Staying In is offered online, on Tuesday, July 14, from 10am-12pm. Your instructors are Stacy Milbouer and Tom Long, both longtime Nackey Loeb School instructors, who have more than 50 years of experience as writers and editors—they know what publications want and how to write content which will catch the eyes of inundated editors and social media readers. In addition to real-time writing exercises, they will offer tricks of the trade and use examples which you (voluntarily) submit to polish and workshop with the class. This course costs $25.

Communicating in a Crisis is offered online, on Thursday, July 16, from 10am-12pm. The pandemic is hitting small businesses and nonprofits hard. This workshop that focuses on communicating and anticipating issues—with clients, customers and other constituents. This massive economic and social disruption is the catalyst for businesses to think differently about the new environment they are operating in as they continue to deliver the products and services customers need while also catering to the needs of their employees. Robin Schell, APR, Fellow PRSA of Jackson Jackson & Wagner and Jayme Simões of Louis Karno & Company Communications, LLC lead this course. This course costs $25 to attend.
